Energy Tracking’s Power@DeskTop application talks to WEM-MX Smart Meter

Energy Tracking is announcing the release of Power@DeskTop software application. This application will allow end users
the ability to chart a rolling 24 hours energy usage minute-by-minute, identify peak demand kW and time of occurance
and energy consumption till-date and for the month. End Users will be able to ascertain their energy cost by entering
a fixed rate $/kWh.
This simple application is an example of how important information from a smart electric meter can be locally accessed using
open protocols via tcp/ip to visually present energy usage in real-time as well as provide important details on
energy costs and carbon footprint.
For those end users who need more information from our power meter, the Power@DeskTop also provides voltage, current and power factor
by phase as well as kVAR and kVARh. The energy usage charts can be saved and printed for future reference.
The WEM-MX is a Web Enabled Meter that combines revenue grade electric metering accuracy and an Ethernet enabled solution for two way
communications and reporting on a smart grid. This smart Internet enabled energy meter provides a superior solution with the
ability to be accessed in real time via a standard web browser and be configured to send consumption, demand
and load profile reports via email, ftp or XML/SOAP web service client using HTTP.
