Energy Tracking’s WEM-MX Smart Meter Presented on ECO News in Greece.

The Intelen Group was interviewed on on ECO NEWS at SKAI TV in Greece, one of the leading TV channels, regarding
the benefits of using Energy Tracking's WEM-MX innovative smart meter, in the first National installation at
the central buildings of Zografou Municipality (http://www.zografou.gr/)
The Mayor of Zografou, Mr. Ioannis Kazakos discussed the importance of smart energy tracking and management and
reporting and explained the use of the web based Energy Information Systems and Services, by applying smart Web AMR
technology. The meter and the installed web technology will raise our sustainable development level and will lead to
important Energy Savings and consequently reduce our OPEX.
During the interview, Dimitris Gerogiannis, Business Development Manager and PR Director for Intelen Group,
explains the importance of energy metering and conservation. By using the web WEM-MX meter, we are using advanced
Internet technology that will lead to the creation of the first Greek SEN (Social Energy Network). In the next months
further installations will take place in Greece and all measured buildings will enter a smart Web Energy Network.
This will increase Energy Awareness of the Greek citizens and at the same time will raise the use of Digital Energy
Services over Internet and broadband connections.
Also, Vassilis Nikolopoulos, Head of Intelen, explains the advantage of acquiring real time energy information via
the Internet and quickly turn it into actionable information based on the analytical information provided by the
high end business logic and analytical models developed by the Intelen Group. The central buildings are now monitored
accurately every 15 minutes and the measured data are gathered in central data warehouses for further analysis,
using intelligent algorithms and advanced Data Mining. The WEM-MX meter uses advanced web technology and existing
internet connections (SYZEFXIS Network system for inter-connecting Public Buildings in Greece) to send data,
provides us the opportunity to save on communication costs, hence no fees are required for GSM, GPRS or 3G subscriptions.
After 3 weeks SAT and FAT, system went live and in due time they will be incorporated in the National PLUGme Network
(http://www.plugme.eu) and at the official Zografou Municipality Portal.
The WEM-MX is a Web Enabled Meter that combines revenue grade electric metering accuracy and an Ethernet enabled
solution for two way communications and reporting on a smart grid. This smart Internet enabled energy meter provides
a superior solution with the ability to be accessed in real time via a standard web browser and be configured to send
consumption, demand and load profile reports via email, ftp or XML/SOAP web service client using HTTP.
